The Project
This project involved Generation Global carrying out a complete interior refurbishment of a Piper PA-31 Navajo, transforming the entire cabin from the entrance steps to the ceiling linings. The refurbishment was performed under Generation Global’s Part 145 Maintenance Organisation, ensuring full certification for the work.

Seat Upholstery
The seat upholstery was crafted from ‘Navy Blue’ (ADI-2021) aviation leather, providing a sleek and modern look. All seven passenger seats featured the same design, each with a backrest pocket for added convenience. The seats were stitched with matching double seams on the outer edges, reinforcing the cabin’s clean, sophisticated design. -
Floor Coverings
The floor coverings were made from ‘Blue Shadow’ heavy-duty cut-pile nylon carpet, ensuring both durability and comfort. This carpet also extends to the lower section of the sidewall linings, seamlessly integrating with the overall design. -
Sidewall Linings and Armrests
The middle section of the sidewall panels and armrests were upholstered in the same ‘Navy Blue’ leather used for the seats, maintaining a uniform aesthetic. The upper section of the sidewalls was covered in a ‘Azure’ light blue fabric, with a textured grain that added dimension and visual interest to the cabin. -
Upper Cabin Linings
The upper cabin linings were finished in light colours, with all panels wrapped in ‘Ice’ synthetic leather. This material brightened the interior, enhancing the spacious and airy feel of the cabin. -
Window Curtains
The window curtains were made from a semi-translucent silver fabric, adding an elegant touch. These curtains were fitted to the rear windows and can be drawn from either side, providing both privacy and a refined look.
The Client
The operator of this Piper PA-31 Navajo is based on Waiheke Island, located in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand. Waiheke Island offers a peaceful, rural lifestyle just a short distance from the bustling city of Auckland. Many Auckland residents commute to Waiheke for a more relaxed living experience.
This operator provides essential transportation services between the islands and the mainland, as well as scenic flights around the stunning region. The aircraft refurbishment ensures that both passengers and crew enjoy a comfortable and stylish experience on every flight.
