This project involved Generation Global supplying a Robinson R44 interior kitset. The kitset included seating, floor coverings, headlining panels and the rear bulkhead panel. This R44 interior was designed with blues and greys which tied in the overall cabin design. The final outcome of the design looked pure class, and the colours provided a balance of customisation with the simplicity of a Robinson aircraft.
The floor coverings were manufactured in a blue (WN-120, Blue Shadow) aviation carpet and the edges were bound in a matching blue mesh binding. The high wear areas around the foot controls have clear plastic heel mats attached using dome fasteners. These are to protect the carpet and also help the pilot’s feet easily slide when using the rudder controls.
The headlining and rear bulkhead upholstery was manufactured using a Grey (HL-108) fabric. The panels are manufactured from noise absorbing foam and covered in a brushed fabric. The panels are directly stuck to the inside of the fuselage using adhesive.
The seat dress covers were manufactured from a blue (ADI-2031, Royal Blue) aviation leather. The dress covers feature diamond quilting (SA001) in seat insert panels using white stitching. The outside border of the dress covers featured white (ADI-1021) leather piping. The door panels were manufactured using a slightly darker blue (ADI-2021, Navy Blue) leather.
