THE PROJECT

This project saw the Generation Global team perform a complete overhaul of a Piper PA-46’s Malibu cabin interior. We replaced or refurbished seating, floor-to-ceiling linings, tray tables, and many other parts. We were given a free hand to refurbish the interior as needed to give the aircraft's interior a new lease of life.

This aircraft’s interior theme centered around two colors: cream and black. The handsome contrast between those two hues was on full display in the cabin’s seating and linings. The floor coverings, meanwhile, were done in a pure charcoal black carpet throughout.

The aircraft’s seat dress covers were made from florida leather (2282) with contrasting, black nappa leather (ADI-1094) inserts. The inserts were stitched with diamond quilting (SA001) on perforated leather (SP5).

The sidewall of this aircraft incorporated armrests, tray tables, and fold-up air stairs. The lower sidewalls were wrapped in florida leather (2282), while the upper armrest section was wrapped in black nappa leather (ADI-1094) - matching the scheme on the seating. The tray tables neatly fold away into the sidewalls. Each table surface had cream leather inserts while the surrounding areas were finished with a high-gloss black finish.

The PA-46 Malibu’s door is a split door; the door’s upper section folds upward, and its lower section folds down to become the airstair. When the air stair is folded back up, it becomes part of the cabin sidewall, blending in with the sidewall thanks to matching black nappa leather covering the underside of each step. Each step’s surface, meanwhile, was covered with Aero Dot Tread flooring. The sill at the top of the steps has a sill plate with a detailed Piper logo etched onto it.

The upper sidewall, cabin ceiling, and rear bulkheads were all wrapped in a china-white vinyl. Each window blind was replaced with alabaster blind fabric. The cockpit window surroundings and other ceiling trim pieces, meanwhile, were painted to match the china white of the sidewalls and ceilings.
