THE PROJECT
This project included the interior refresh of an aeroclub Piper PA-38 Tomahawk by the Generation Global team. New covers and cushions were provided for the two seats and the control yokes were wrapped in leather.
GALLERY
The Tomahawk aircraft has two seats, with the base cushion being held on via a velcro wrap-around flap, which attaches across the front and back of the frame. The seat back has a diaphragm attached to the frame, to which the cushion and upholstery are then fitted to. The seat cushions were brand new and made from durable Genlite foam.
The seat covers were manufactured from lead grey leather and featured double stitching on their outside seams. The seat back and base have horizontal seams, which offer a clean, balanced appearance. For added convenience, each seat back also sports a large pocket.
The control yokes covers consist of three parts, the control wheel pad and two hand grips. The black leather grips are hand stitched onto the yoke when wet before they shrink into place. Control wheel pad is removeable and is wrapped in in the same black leather.
