THE PROJECT
For this project, our team replaced the floor coverings of a Piper PA-34 Seneca owned by a fixed-wing charter company. The client had replaced the seating in the aircraft during the previous year. Generation Global has a range of Piper Senica interior parts available on their online shop.

The replacement carpet we provided was a nylon cut pile carpet, colour Ash. The carpet is cut to size to fit the aircraft’s ribbed floor structure, which had several sunken footwells. We also provided cut parts for the lower sidewalls, which included pockets for the pilot and co-pilot seats. The crew footwells featured heel mats to protect the flooring and were domed into place.
The old floor coverings were removed and the old carpet segments were used to develop the patterns for the new carpet pieces. The parts were drawn up in CAD and paper templates were checked in the aircraft. The carpet pieces are cut using a CNC laser cutter. This allows us to achieve perfect precision cut parts and the edges are seared by the laser. The exposed edges of the carpet were edged with a matching mesh binding.
