THE PROJECT

The Swiss-designed Pilatus PC-12 is one of the most popular single-engine, turbine-powered planes on the market. This Pilatus’ carpet was looking worse for wear, so its US-based owner used Generation Global’s website to order a new carpet, free of shipping charges. All parts were supplied with EASA certification. Pilatus PC-12s are built in both commuter and executive configurations - we have the interior supplies and replacement parts to accommodate either.

Our client ordered stock parts via Generation Global’s website. The floorplan needed small alterations to the digital cutting file, to ensure the carpets were a perfect fit. Minor variations between aircraft, even from the original manufacturer, are common in the aircraft industry. When everything was cut and installed, the fit was perfect. We were very pleased with how the project turned out, and our client was as well.

The carpet set for this aircraft used a dark grey Genflor Zimmer carpet (WN-120), which was bound with a mesh binding. Our client opted for an additional underlay as well. Velcro along the carpet’s underside is used to secure the carpet to the aircraft’s frame, making replacements and installations quick and easy.

THE CLIENT

Our client for this project was an international missionary organisation that distributes aid and medical support to remote regions across the world. For over 75 years, small aircraft, like the Pilatus PC-12, have been critical to this organisation’s ability to provide its services to difficult-to-access places. A new carpet may seem like a small upgrade, but it really contributes to the cleanliness and appearance of a plane’s interior - it was a joy to assist with this project, and we look forward to helping you with your carpeting or other aircraft interior needs
