THE PROJECT
This project involved Generation Global supplying a PA-44 Piper Seminole interior kit. The kit included new seat dress covers and cushions, sidewall linings, suspended headlining, floor coverings, and other small parts such as the door draught excluder and armrests. These parts are available on Generation Global’s online shop.

The floor coverings were manufactured from a dark grey (Ash) plush cut pile aviation carpet. The floor coverings are cut from digital patterns with exacting precision using a CNC laser cutter. The laser sears the edge of the carpet at the same time which prevents any fraying. The edges are bound in a matching mesh binding and floor protectors fitted to the high wear areas around the foot controls.
The sidewall linings were manufactured with new plastic backing panels and wrapped with upholstery. The moulded plastic tops of the panels were the only original parts that were retained and reused. The sidewall upholstery had the (Ash) carpet on the bottom section and the upper section was covered in Lead Grey (ADI-1111) leather upholstery.
The seat dress covers were manufactured from Charcoal (ADI-1121) aviation leather. The seat design is the Piper NG design which is found across the Piper range of aircraft. The leather centre insert of the seats was perforated and the Piper logo was embossed with heat into the seatback.
The headlining was a suspended headlining and was also cut out by the CNC laser cutter. The headlining has longitudinal seams and was manufactured from a light grey (Geneva HL-110) synthetic leather with a smooth grain.
