THE PROJECT
This project included revitalising a Piper PA-28R - 200 interior for an aviation syndicate. The PA-28 has multiple seating configurations and in particular this aircraft consists of two crew and a rear bench seat. The refurbishment included new seat upholstery, headlining assembly, side wall panels, carpets, and refurbished control yokes. All the parts for the PA-28 series interior are available on Generation Global’s on-line shop.

The seats were completely rebuilt from the frame up including new slings, foam cushioning and dress covers. The dress covers were in charcoal grey (ADI-1121) aviation leather with matching stitching. The seat backrests also included an embossed piper logo on the two crew front seats and all seats had perforated (SP-1) panels in the bottom and backrest panels. The control yoke’s hand grips were wrapped in perforated leather and hand stitched on.
The interior side trims and carpets tie everything together, bringing in light colours on the upper panels and darker colours on the lower panels and floor area. This helps to accentuate the feeling of space in the cabin. The floor coverings are a dark Charcoal (Zimmer) plush nylon carpet with black mesh binding. The headlining is completed in a light-coloured fabric (FO2) and all plastics are colour matched to the headlining. The side trims are split with synthetic leather on the upper section and carpet on the bottom.
