THE PROJECT
If you’ve had any flight school training, there’s a fair chance you’ve flown in a Piper PA-28–161 Warrior II. Also known as the Cherokee Warrior, this iconic and reliable four-seater aircraft is decades old but continues to be used for training, passenger transport, reconnaissance, and more around the world. For this project, we fully refurbished the interior. Design your own interior using our PA-28-161 configurator on the online shop.

We styled this aircraft’s interior in black with charcoal stitching, while we kept the ceiling of the cabin white. For the seats, sidewalls, and carpets, we utilised several materials in matching shades of black. The instrument panel was painted black, and we wrapped the glareshield in black non-glare vinyl with detailed stitching to match the seating. Finally, the rear bulkhead panel and headlining were manufactured from a white coloured vinyl (ghost), and the plastics and ceiling trims were painted to match.
The seating on a Warrior II consists of two front bucket seats and a rear bench seat. these were refurbished using black leather and featuring Charcoal Gray double stitching. For the inserts, we used perforated (SP1) leather, which provides an extra level of texture and detail that you can rarely get from off-the-shelf products.
For this aircraft’s flooring, we used Black City carpeting. Then we tackled the sidewall linings, which extended from the carpet’s edge to the windows. We ensured the sidewalls matched the seats by using a black vinyl material that also sported a charcoal gray double-stitched stitch line that ran horizontally along the entire length of the aircraft’s interior. The sidewall panels include armrests and documents pockets. It was well worth the effort though - when all was said and done, this Warrior II was looking better than ever!
