The Project

Generation Global completed a full cabin refurbishment for an MD 500 helicopter, delivering premium-quality interior upgrades. The project included:

  • New seat covers and cushions for all seating positions

  • Re-wrapping of all interior paneling in synthetic leather

  • Custom floor coverings for enhanced durability and aesthetics

The refurbished components were returned for the client to reinstall, ensuring a seamless integration into the aircraft. For MD 500 parts such as pockets, flooring, and door inserts, visit MD / Hughes Helicopter Interiors | Shop Online | Generation Global

Interior Design & Materials

The MD 500 cabin layout is divided into two compartments, featuring:

  • Front seating: Two pilot seats with a narrow center seat below the map pocket panel

  • Rear seating: Bench seat with two separate seatbacks

  • Premium Charcoal Grey (ADI-1121) aviation leather with white double stitching

  • MD Helicopters logo embossed on seatbacks (excluding the narrow center seat)

  • Vertically stitched inserts on seat bases and backs for a refined finish

The cockpit features extensive glass paneling, with interior paneling limited to the doors and central map panel. The rear compartment is fully enclosed with custom-wrapped synthetic leather paneling, requiring expert craftsmanship for a flawless, blemish-free finish.

Floor Coverings

The MD 500 helicopter flooring is made up of seven front carpet sections and four rear sections, crafted from Zimmer (WN-120) aviation carpet with matching mesh binding. The front features removable mats for easy inspection, while the rear is covered with a one-piece carpet and three bulkhead mats around the air vents.
