THE PROJECT
For this project, Generation Global worked on the interior of a home-built Vans RV-10 airplane. We upgraded the interior specs to that of a new, high-end, factory-produced aircraft. Our work covered everything from sidewalls to headlining. And, as this was a highly customised interior, we worked closely with the client throughout the process.

This aircraft’s interior was styled with beige and dark grey colours. It included seating covers and cushions, carpets, side trim panels, rear bulkhead panels, and headlining panels. Other parts we worked on included the armrests, door handles, centre console unit, instrument dash, and glareshield.
Each seat in the aircraft was made using pearl leather (ADI-4071) as the main colour with the lead grey leather being used for the inserts. That lead grey leather was perforated with SP1 perforation. The two crew seats sport tall headrests, each of which features an RV-10 logo - we embroidered those logos onto the leather in a lead grey stitching.
For the sidewall, rear bulk trim, and center console, we used a vinyl that matched the lead grey leather used in the seat inserts. Meanwhile, the armrest, which was integrated into the console, was wrapped in the same pearl leather as the seats. The rear armrests on the sidewalls were also done in pearl leather, which contrasts with the lead grey of the vinyl wrap.
The headlining in the aircraft was done in beige fabric (F15) - it wraps over from just below the windows and around the winged doors. Those winged doors sport Pearl leather (ADI-4071) pull handles.
The instrument dash and glareshield were both wrapped in black - the glareshield used a vinyl, while the aircraft’s dash had a polyester wall lining fabric. To match, the carpets were made from Genflor Peat WN-120 with black binding. A dark carpet gives the interior depth and hides any dirt.
