THE PROJECT
This project saw our team provide interior parts - including seating, door inserts, and a carpet set - for a Hughes 269C helicopter. The Hughes 269 is a light utility helicopter that is used primarily for agricultural purposes.

The bubble cabin seating in a Hughes 269C features a three-seater bench-style seat. We supplied the left and right seats with two tones of leather. For the base, we used a darker charcoal grey leather (ADI-1121), while for the inserts we used a lighter, titanium grey leather (ADI-1231). Double-stitching, with a thread made to match the Titanium Grey, was utilized on the outer seams. We used the same thread to embroider Schweizer logos onto the upper backrest of the left and right seats.
The inserts for both doors utilized Charcoal Grey leather with Titanium Grey stitching. Each door had two insert panels at their lower ends. These panels were comprised of a plastic backing piece which was then wrapped in leather.
The floor coverings we provided were Zimmer carpet, which was edged with black binding. This helicopter’s floor covering set consisted of a main flooring piece, which had cutouts for controls, and durable heelmats that featured MW-200 vinyl flooring. Each side of the center console beneath the center seat also had a custom carpet piece. These parts wrap around the seat bases and are attached with velcro.
