THE PROJECT

For this project, Generation Global’s team refurbished the interior of a scenic tour operator’s Cessna 206. Our team refurbished everything from the seat upholstery, repainting the seat frames, rewebbing the seatbelts, and swapping out the interior linings.

The cabin interior linings were furnished in a variety of matching hues of grey. The floor coverings and seats were in a handsome dark grey (lead grey), while the material on the sidewalls and the headlining featured a lighter grey (Brooklyn grey).

The interior side walls featured a horizontal detailing line, which ran down the length of the aircraft and was crafted from the same leather that was used for the seats. Six wall-mounted armrests were wrapped in dark lead grey leather, which contrasted with the sidewalls’ lighter shade. The bottom of the sidewalls meanwhile, was clad in Zimmer carpets. To bring this colour scheme together, the upper sidewall plastics were painted to match the headlining.

The headlining, which was suspended, was made with a foam-backed fabric (F02). It sports cutouts, a hidden roof access zip and custom plastic surrounds for the seatbelts and air conditioning vents.

The Cessna 206 is a six-seater aircraft; it has two crew, two seats middle-row seats, and two aft seats. The seat covers and cushions we provided were all identical in styling. Covers were made using lead grey leather and featured perforated inserts. The seats were stitched with titanium grey stitching - a lighter-color thread that contrasted with the dark lead grey covers - and each had a Cessna logo is debossed onto its seat back. We also furnished new cushions and diaphragms.

For flooring, we installed plush-pile Zimmer carpet, which was edged with black mesh binding. The carpets also have alloy heel mats, which protect high-wear areas.

In the cockpit, our team refurbished two control yokes, which were wrapped in black leather and given new badges and decals. We also rewrapped the glare shield cover in black UV vinyl and installed new draught excluders and new seals around the doors.
