THE PROJECT
This project involved Generation Global supplying replacement cockpit seat cushions for the Embraer Regional Jet EMB 175 crew seating. The crew seats are TSO 127a crashworthy seats and Generation Global developed an aftermarket/ PMA part that complies with the original TSO. This included extensive validation testing at the Wichita State University test labs and are certified with a EASA Part 21J design approval and supplied with a EASA form 1. The seat cushions are manufactured from a specialist fire retardant polyurethane foam and are covered in a hard-wearing fire blocking material for added durability. The aftermarket/PMA parts are very popular with operators due to the high use of these parts.
THE CLIENT
This customer operates a fleet of Embraer Regional jets for 3 of United States of America’s big airlines under contract. The EMB 175 aircraft has been a commercial success primarily due to its ability to efficiently serve lower-demand routes while offering many of the same amenities and features of larger jets. The aircraft is used by mainline and regional airlines around the world but has proven particularly popular with regional airlines in the United States.
