THE PROJECT

At Generation Global, we help outfit aircraft for both public and private groups around the world. For this project, we supplied a North Carolina, USA operator with interior parts for one of their fleet’s Cessna 185 Skywagons. The operator ordered new front seat upholstery, armrests, pull handles, and control grips via our international website. We were happy to help this agency fulfill its mission!

The seats in this particular Cessna were the (1975-86) upholstery design. For both front seat covers, as well as their headrests, we provided new Saddle Brown leather (ADI-4111) upholstery. The seat inserts were made from Saddle Brown leather as well, though they were perforated to provide greater breathability. The client sent us photos of their aircraft interior at the time of ordering and we were able to carefully study the interior and ensure the right parts were supplied. We encourage all of our clients to do the same for their projects.

Also supplied in Saddle Brown leather (ADI-4111) were a set of covers for this 185 Skywagon’s pull handles and door-mounted armrests. Each cover was stitched with thread that exactly matched the leather, and each was shaped to perfectly fit over its corresponding piece. The control wheel pad and grip covers, meanwhile, were supplied in black leather (ADI-1091). These parts were used to cover the padded column of the yoke and were made to include alloy 185 badges. Covers were glued onto the existing structure and control grips, and hand-stitched onto the control yokes, by the client.
