THE PROJECT
The Bell 206B JetRanger is a popular, 5-seater utility helicopter that was produced by Bell Helicopter in Quebec for nearly 50 years. For this project, we did a complete interior replacement for a JetRanger - that included new seats, carpets, floor mats, door inserts, and control boots. All parts used in this project can be found on Generation Global’s online shop. They’re easy to install, too!

The crew and pax seats in this helicopter have a Gen II design. Each is composed of a diaphragm, foam, and a cover. The covers we used are made from handsome black leather (ADI 1091), and inserts are perforated to help increase airflow. Each seat sports horizontal stitch lines running across the center inserts on its base and back. Horizontal and detail stitching was all done in white, providing a nice, sharp contrast with the black. Door panels were made to match the theme - they sport black vinyl with white stitching.
The control boots we used were made from the same leather as the seat covers, which helped seamlessly tie the interior together. Each boot was fitted using both domes and velcro. These particular boots were designed for a Bell 206 JetRanger without a plastics kit.
Our client asked for split flooring for this project. We installed attractive, Black City carpet in the front cabin, while the rear was outfitted with a black vinyl flooring, which featured a metallic fleck pattern. The raised, grippy surface of the utility vinyl helps prevent slips.
This JetRanger also needed replacement ground-handling gear, including blade tie-downs and intake bungs. We installed pieces made from weather- and UV-resistant, PVC-coated polyester fabric. We used all bright red pieces for enhanced visibility.
Specialized blankets are often found in the rear cabins of Bell 206s. Easy to dome on and off, these blankets offer sound absorption and protection when an aircraft is being used for utility work. The particular blankets that we installed were made from a subdued grey material that has been custom designed for Generation Global. The quilting on these blankets helps stiffen them, ensuring they maintain their shape.
